‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ clocks 25 years: Karan Johar expresses gratitude; calls film an ‘emotion’

Karan Johar’s directorial debut ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ marks 25 years and the filmmaker is celebrating this occasion with a special post on Instagram. He shared a special video featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Rani Mukerji, and Salman Khan along with some of the best scenes from the film.

Sharing the post, Karan called the film an ’emotion’ and thanked everyone who worked in the film.

He wrote, ‘25 years ago is where it all began…and here we are today celebrating not just a film but an EMOTION for me and from all the love we get for it, I gather it is for everyone too… Thank you for showering unending love for this tale of pyaar & dosti till today and thank you for marking my journey as a filmmaker for 25 years with such warmth. I will eternally be grateful to the people I am fortunate to work with, to the people I meet who watch my films, and to the magic of MOVIES.’

He tagged Shah Rukh and Kajol. Karan also gave a special mention to Salman Khan.

As part of the celebrations, Karan Johar hosted three special screenings of ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ in Mumbai. The tickets were priced at Rs 25.

During one of the screenings, Karan, Shah Rukh, and Rani surprised fans and interacted with them. They spoke about the film and thanked them for the love they’ve given to the movie.

Kajol couldn’t be a part of it due to her outdoor shoot schedule, but she penned a special note for the film.

Stepping back into Anjali’s shoes after 25 years, Kajol wrote that she has many memories and love attached to this film. ;So glad that everyone loves it as much as I do. A first for @karanjohar and a beginning to an amazing journey for @dharmamovies .. Fabulous music that still resonates, even today.. #kkhh is and always will be a labour of love.’

‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ was released on October 16, 1998, and the movie continues to get love and appreciation from fans even today.
