‘OMG 2’ Twitter review: Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi starrer being hailed for being ‘brave, bold’

‘OMG 2’, starring Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam, released in theatres on August 11 along with Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar 2’. The early reviews for the satirical comedy-drama film are pouring in on social media and many netizens are praising the film for sensitively handling a bold subject.

A Twitter user called the movie ‘bonafide blockbuster’ and said that words can’t define the excellence the team has shown.

‘Words can't define the excellence the whole team has done. #Akshaykumar sir's best Movie ever Period....@raiamitbabulal Charan sparsh @TripathiiPankaj u nailed it @yamigautam ma'am aur yeh apke liye (heart emoticons) Overall movie is a "BONAFIED BLOCKBUSTER’, he tweeted.

Another user wrote that with a balanced dose of a social message and humour, ‘OMG 2’ weaves a compelling story about the need for sex education.

Calling the movie ‘mind blowing’, a user appreciated the performance of the lead stars.

The Amit Rai directorial has failed to impress a section of the audience. A user termed the movie ‘bad’, while another wrote that it is a boring movie with long lectures.

Ahead of its release, the CBFC gave a long list of modifications to the ‘OMG 2’ team where they were asked to remove ads of condoms, frontal nudity shots of Naga Sadhus, and visuals of what is being described as ‘sculptures of unnatural sex’ among others. After 27 modifications, the film got an ‘A’ certificate.
