'Pathaan': Kangana Ranaut hails Shah Rukh Khan's movie, says 'films like this should definitely work'

Actor Kangana Ranaut, who recently completed the shooting of her forthcoming political drama 'Emergency', hosted a wrap-up party on Wednesday. At the event, the 'Queen' actor praised Shah Rukh Khan's latest release 'Pathaan' while speaking to media stationed outside the venue.

The actor said, 'Pathaan is doing very well. I feel films like this should definitely work. Hindi cinema has been lagging behind other film industries, and we are all trying to finally bring back the business in our own little way'.

Anupam Kher, who is playing JP Narayan in Kangana's directorial 'Emergency', also appreciated SRK's film and added, 'It is a huge film, made on a huge budget.'

Earlier, during the day, Kangana, in a series of tweets, had called Bollywood 'crass and crude' for valuing the box office performance of films over everything else.

She wrote, 'Film industry is so crass and crude that whenever they want to project success of any endeavour/creation/art they throw flashing currency digits in your face, as if art has no other purpose.. it exposes their lowly standards and the kind of deprived lives they live ..'

On the work front, besides 'Emergency', Kangana Ranaut also has 'Tejas' in the pipeline which is scheduled to release in theatres on May 2023.

She will also be donning the producer’s hat for ‘Tiku Weds Sheru’, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Avneet Kaur.
