R Madhavan becomes prey to social media trollers for his claims on ISRO

Ever since R Madhavan announced his directorial debut 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect', film enthusiasts have been eagerly waiting for the film to get released.

With the film’s release just a few days away, the ‘3 Idiots’ actor has started the film’s promotions. During one such promotional event, he talked about the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) & their ‘Mars Orbiter Mission’. R Madhavan claimed that it used the Panchang, the Hindu calendar, which helped ISRO launch a rocket into space for its Mars mission.

The actor made the comments in Tamil which was translated by musician T M Krishna. During the event, the actor said that the Indian rockets did not have 3 engines (solid, liquid, and cryogenic) which help the western rockets propel themselves into the Martian orbit. And since India did not have the three engines, they used the information in the 'Panchangam' (Hindu Calendar)

This comment didn’t go well with netizens and they started slamming him on social media. One user tweeted, ‘Science is not everyone's cup of tea’. Another user criticised him by saying he was behaving like a ‘WhatsApp uncle’.

As for the film ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’, it is based on the life of Nambi Narayanan, a former scientist and aerospace engineer of ISRO. R Madhavan will be seen playing the titular role in the film. The film will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and English languages. The film has been scheduled to hit the theatres on July 1, 2022.
