After the success of ‘Srikanth’ and ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’, Rajkummar Rao is gearing up to step into a different genre. Known for playing challenging roles, he will be taking on an action hero role this time. Helmed by Pulkit, Rajkummar Rao’s next high-octane action drama is titled ‘Maalik’.

From hard-hitting intense emotions to lighthearted rom coms to horror comedy, Rajkummar Rao has done it all. Hungry to explore more, the actor is now set to venture into the action genre. Rajkummar Rao has reportedly begun the hard work to build a muscular physique. He is focusing on physical fitness to fit into the role.

A mix of emotio-driven storyline and high-octane action entertainer, the film is written by Pulkit. ‘12th Fail’ fame Medha Shankr has been reportedly cast opposite Rajkummar Rao in this film. According to reports, the shooting will commence in September with a three-month long schedule. The film will reportedly be shot in Lucknow and Varanasi.

2024 is a busy year for Rajkummar Rao. The actor started the year with ‘Srikanth’ where he portrayed the character of visually challenged Srikanth Bolla. His performance received praise from critics and fans alike. After that, he was seen in ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’ alongside Janhvi Kapoor. Rao will next be seen in ‘Stree 2’ and ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’.
