'Ram Setu' and 'Thank God' box office collection day 1: Find out which film fared better

Sidharth Malhotra-Ajay Devgn starrer 'Thank God' earned ₹8.10 crore on its opening day in India, whereas 'Ram Setu', starring Akshay Kumar, earned ₹15.25 crore. 

'Ram Setu' and 'Thank God' box office collection day 1: Find out which film fared better

'Ram Setu' and 'Thank God' are the two big Diwali releases and all eyes are now on these films to work their magic at the box office. The first day collections of the films have been shared by trade analyst Taran Adarsh on his social media pages.

The Sidharth Malhotra-Ajay Devgn starrer didn't have a great start at the domestic box office. The family comedy, directed by Indra Kumar, earned ₹8.10 crore on its opening day in India. Whereas 'Ram Setu', starring Akshay Kumar, received a positive response and earned ₹15.25 crore on day one.

This is Akshay’s best opening film of 2022 after 'Bachchhan Paandey', 'Samrat Prithviraj' and 'Raksha Bandhan'. His last film 'Cuttputlli' released on OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar.

According to a report in boxofficeindia.com, 'Ram Setu's opening numbers are the second best for a Hindi original film in 2022, after Ayan Mukerji's 'Brahmastra - Part One: Shiva', which released in theatres on September 9 in Hindi and many other regional languages. The report further states that the mass circuits in states like Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and states in central India are responding well to the film.

'Ram Setu' narrates the story of Dr Aryan Kulshreshtha, an archaeologist, who is on a mission to discover and save Ram Setu in just three days. The Abhishek Sharma directorial also stars Jacqueline Fernandez, as an environmentalist named Dr Sandra, and Nushrrat Bharuccha as Professor Gayatri Kulshrestha, Aryan's wife.

'Thank God' is a story of a self-centered man who finds himself in 'Yamlok' after an accident. he is offered to play a game of life by Lord Chitragupta, played by Ajay Devgn.
