'Ramayana': Ranbir Kapoor is undergoing voice and diction training for film; says report

Preparations for Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, featuring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role of Lord Ram, are said to be progressing rapidly. According to a report from India Today, Ranbir is set to undergo rigorous vocal training to bring a unique sound to his portrayal of the character. Alongside Ranbir, Sai Pallavi and Yash are also cast in pivotal roles, playing Sita and Ravan, respectively.

According to the report, the director is sparing no effort and is extensively preparing for the film. It is stated that he has established a dedicated team for refining diction and dialogue, which will closely collaborate with the actors. Ranbir has reportedly been assigned to a diction expert who will supervise his dialogue delivery to match the director's vision. Additionally, the report highlights a particular focus on costumes for the film.

India Today quoting a source stated, ‘Ranbir has a certain baritone and a way of speaking his lines. It is symbolic and if you have even closed your eyes, you can recognise a dialogue purely based on Ranbir’s voice. In Ramayana, Nitesh wants to make sure he sounds different from the characters he’s played in the past. Being a versatile actor, he is enjoying this process of trying something new.’

Following Om Raut’s ‘Adipurush’, starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan, as well as Prasanth Varma’s modern take with Teja Sajja, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Amritha Aiyer, and Vinay Rai in ‘HanuMan’, Nitesh's upcoming film marks the third recent adaptation of the ‘Ramayan’ saga. Although the film's team has yet to issue an official announcement, speculation surrounding the project has been prevalent for some time.

Ranbir is anticipated to commence shooting for the film soon. Additionally, reports suggest that the makers have approached Sunny Deol for the role of Hanuman and Bobby Deol for Kumbakaran. If these rumours are true, the film is slated for release in 2025.
