Pan-India films have become a rage in the country and the cine lovers are enjoying the action, drama and romance packed films at the theatres. Here’s a look at some of the movies that have won our hearts.

‘Baahubali’ franchise (2015, 2017)

S S Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali’ changed the dynamics within Indian cinema. The epic action drama, starring Prabhas and Rana Daggubati, shattered box office records and became one of the highest-grossing Indian movies. Released in two installments, the film narrates the story of the kingdom of Mahishmati and its inner politics. Bhallaladeva conspires against his brother Baahubali to become the king and gets him killed by Katappa. He also imprisons his wife, Devsena. Years later, Baahubali's son returns to avenge his father's death.

‘RRR’ (2022)

Starring Ram Charan and N T Rama Rao Jr, ‘RRR’ narrates a pre-Independence fictional story of two Indian revolutionaries in the 1920s, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Kumram Bheem. The film also features Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, and Shriya Saran in pivotal roles.

'RRR' released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi, on March 25. The film grossed over ₹1,200 crore worldwide and it is one of the most successful Indian films of 2022.

‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’ (2022)

R Madhavan’s directorial debut, based on former ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan’s life, highlights the spy scandal that changed his life forever and uncovers the truth the behind it all. The biographical drama stars Madhavan in the lead role and features special appearances by superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Suriya.

The film released in theatres on July 1 in Hindi, Tamil, and English.

K.G.F: Chapter 1 & 2 (2018, 2022)

The period action film, written and directed by Prashanth Neel, stars Yash and Srinidhi Shetty. It starts with journalist Anand Ingalagi's interview, whose book ‘El Dorado’ was banned by the government for detailing the events at the Kolar Gold Fields (K.G.F.) between 1951 and 2018. He is seen narrating the story of Rocky who gets involved with the gold mafia to acquire power and wealth and fulfill a promise made to his dying mother.

Vijendra Ingalgi, son of Anand Ingalgi continues the story of KGF and Rocky in Chapter 2.

‘K.G.F: Chapter 1’ won two awards for Best Action and Best Special Effects at the 66th National Film Awards, whereas ‘K.G.F: Chapter 2’, which released on 14 April, 2022 in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam, is the third highest-grossing Indian film of all time.

'Puspha: The Rise’ (2021)

The Sukumar directorial stars Allu Arjun in the titular role along with Fahadh Faasil and Rashmika Mandanna. The action drama narrates the story of Pushpa Raj, a coolie, who volunteers to smuggle rare wood red sanders that only grows in Andhra. He soon becomes the leader of the smuggling network, but a ruthless police officer Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat takes charge as SP and taunts Pushpa for his family background.

‘Pushpa: The Rise’ released on December 17, 2021 in Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi. It emerged as the highest-grossing Indian film in 2021, and ranks among the highest-grossing Telugu films of all time.

Saaho (2019)

The action thriller, written and directed by Sujeeth, stars Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor. It narrates the story of an uncover cop who gets entangled in the fierce power struggle among gangsters who want to acquire a ‘black box.’

The film marked Prabhas Bollywood debut, whereas Shraddha’s debut in Telugu cinema.

‘Saaho’ released in 2019 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
