The trailer for Tahira Kashyap’s upcoming directorial, 'Sharmajee Ki Beti', is finally here. The makers have also announced the release date of the social drama. It features Sakshi Tanwar, Saiyami Kher, and Divya Dutta in the key roles. Touted as a light-hearted and heartwarming movie, 'Sharmajee Ki Beti' explores relevant themes of women's empowerment and the challenges faced by them in society.

'Sharmajee Ki Beti' trailer out now!

The trailer introduces three parallel leads, who share the same surname, 'Sharma': Jyoti Sharma (Sakshi Tanwar), a doctor who is unable to find a middle path in her middle-class life; Kiran Sharma (Divya Dutta), a homemaker who moved from Patiala to Mumbai, finds she's lonely even when she's with her husband; Tanvi Sharma (Saiyami Kher), an aspiring female cricketer, who's often told she'll never become Sachin Tendulkar or Virat Kohli. The trailer also offers a brief glimpse into the lives of two teenage Sharma girls, chronicling their struggles while growing up.

Presented by Applause Entertainment and produced by Ellipsis Entertainment, the film is written and directed by Tahira Kashyap, wife of actor Ayushmann Khurrana. "Through the multi-generational lens of three middle-class women and two teenage girls – all sharing the common surname 'Sharma', the film delves into their unique experiences and struggles," according to the official synopsis.

'Sharmajee Ki Beti' releases on Amazon Prime Video on June 28.
