In a interview with The Hindustan Times, Akshay revealed that Joint Commissioner Vishwas Nangre Patil was his inspiration for the role.

Akshay said he has known the top cop for years, and has been impressed by his work. Akshay called the commissioner "upright" and "on point" and admitted he has not seen a police officer like him.

The actor went on to say that Vishwas was the perfect figure to look up to for his role in Sooryavanshi, though he is tough on the exterior, he is all heart inside, because he does so many good deeds as a part of his duty.
