Vicky Kaushal-Katrina Kaif wedding: 20 kg organic mehendi powder, 400 cones supplied for function

Even as fans wait for a glimpse of festivities, Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal's mehendi ceremony slated for today is likely to be a big fat punjabi ceremony.

Nearly 20 kg of 'organic mehendi' powder has been sourced specially from Sojat in Rajasthan’s Pali district for Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal’s mehendi ceremony, and reportedly costs between ₹50,000- 1 lakh.

Nitesh Aggarwal, owner of the Sojat-based mehendi processing and manufacturing firm says, his company supplied organic mehendi to the event management company for the wedding, free of cost as a gift from Sojat for Vicky-Katrina. He added that it took them almost 20 days to process the organic mehendi especially for the wedding.

Apart from the mehendi powder, 400 pieces of mehendi cones have also been sent for the couple's functions, at the Six Senses Fort Barwara in Sawai Madhopur. There are about 120 guests at the wedding and both ladkiwale and baraatis will be involved in the mehendi ceremony.

Katrina's mehendi artist is reportedly Veena Nagda, who has been part of several celeb weddings in the past. She shared a Insta story from the venue without revealing any names. Veena Nagda has several photos of herself with Katrina Kaif on her Instagram, so they have clearly had a long working relationship.

Vicky has a big, loving and warm Punjabi family on his side and his chacha, chachi, mama and mami are all looking forward to officially welcoming Katrina into the family. Katrina Kaif's family have flown in from London for the wedding, her mother, her sisters and brother and a close group of friends.

The Punjabi flavour reportedly began with a 'ladies sangeet' organised by Vicky's mother Veena Kaushal on Tuesday at the wedding venue. There were dholki's that the women from Vicky's family played and they sang some Punjabi folk songs. Veena ji wanted to give Katrina and her family from London a taste of Punjabi culture and this fun family affair was just the right way to do it.
