World Cup 2023: Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan congratulate Team India for winning semi-finals

The entire nation rejoiced as Team India emerged victorious in the World Cup semi-final match against New Zealand.

Post the match, the entire film industry took to social media to congratulate Team India and also hailed Virat Kohli who made his 50th ODI century during the match.

Shah Rukh Khan also lauded the men in blue and extended his wishes for them for the finals.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), SRK shared a picture of the Indian cricket team and wrote, ‘Yay boys!!! What a display of team spirit and play. Unto winning the finals now. All the best. India!’

Amitabh Bachchan seemed disappointed for not being able to watch the thrilling match and wrote, ‘T 4831 - when I don't watch we WIN!’

Celebs like Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Preity Zinta, Sidharth Malhotra, and many others penned words of encouragement for Team India.

Ajay Devgn wrote, ‘The BEST bowling attack, the BEST batting line-up, we have it ALL!... World Cup Trophy...Here we come!’

Sidharth wrote, ‘What a stellar performance #TeamIndia. Such a treat to watch our champions excel on the field and win their way through the semis. Huge congratulations to @viratkohli for setting yet another record, and @ mdshami.11 for his brilliant 7 haul! Super excited for the finals! Can’t wait to get the cup home.’

The match became historic after cricketer Virat Kohli hit his 50th century in front of the lakhs of people present at the Wankhede stadium. He surpassed master-blaster Sachin Tendulkar’s record.

Many familiar faces were spotted among the spectators at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium on November 15. Among them were Anushka Sharma cheering for Virat, Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra seated next to David Beckham, and John Abraham, Vicky Kaushal, Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput, Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Khemu and Ranbir Kapoor.
