Yami Gautam and Priyamani starrer ‘Article 370’ has been banned in all the Gulf countries. While the film has been receiving a great response in domestic market, it has become second film this year to be banned in the region after Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone’s ‘Fighter’.

‘Article 370’ banned in Gulf countries

While no reason has been cited for the ban on the film, the population of Pakistani migrants in Gulf countries is one of the reasons speculated for the decision. Earlier, based on Pulwama attack, Hrithik Roshan starrer ‘Fighter’ was banned in all Gulf countries.

‘Article 370’ box office collection

The political drama set up in Kashmir has been receiving positive reviews from the fans and critics. The film has minted ₹23 crore in the domestic market since its release. ‘Article 370’ took off at ₹5.9 crore on day one of its release and gained momentum on the weekend.

Speaking to PTI, PVR INOX Pictures said in a statement that the film is currently screening in 1,509 theatres, with more theatres being added across the country during the weekend.

About ‘Article 370’

Released on February 23, the film stars Yami Gautam and Priyamani in the lead roles. The film is based on the emergence of terrorism, politics, corruption in J&K. Yami essays the role of an intelligence officer who faces tough challenges with Article 370 in place.
