Several celebrities from the South Indian film industry were in attendance as actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan took oath as deputy Chief Minister.

It was a star-studded affair at the swearing-in ceremony of Chandrababu Naidu. Megastars like Rajinikanth and Chiranjeevi attended the event which also saw Pawan Kalyan take oath as the deputy Chief minister of Andhra Pradesh.

South film stars assemble at oath-taking ceremony

Biggest celebrities of South Indian film industry came together to celebrate the oath-taking ceremony of Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan. Megastar Chiranjeevi arrived with his Ram Charan to the ceremony. For the unversed, Chiranjeevi is Pawan Kalyan’s brother and the veteran actor had actively campaigned for him ahead of the elections.

Chiranjeevi invited as state guest

Chiranjeevi had been given a special invitation from TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu and the veteran actor attended the ceremony as a state guest. Prime Minister Modi who was also present at the ceremony, shared a hug with Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan and raised his hands with the brothers. Proud elder brother Chiranjeevi expressed his love for his brother on stage. Ram Charan was seen getting emotional when he saw his father and uncle on stage with Prime Minister Modi.

After Prime Minister Modi’s oath-taking ceremony, Rajinikanth was present at Naidu’s swearing-in as well. He was accompanied by his wife Latha. Thalaiva shared stage with Chiranjeevi as the two sat next to each other. The videos of the two veteran actors together witnessing the historic moment together and engaged in banter have gone viral on the Internet. Prime Minister Modi also met Rajinikanth and the two exchanged greetings.

Besides Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan and Rajinikanth, actor Sai Dugha Tej, Nandamuri Balakrishna and many more were also present at the swearing-in ceremony.
