Officials said the climbers went missing on  Wednesday, and officials were intimated by two other members of the group who returned to Wachem near Malana.

      In distressing news from Kullu in Himachal Pradesh, four mountaineers went missing while scaling Mt Ali Ritna Tibba. They have been missing since 7 September 2022.

      The four climbers hail from West Bengal, and were identified as Abhijit Banik, Chinmoy Mondal, Dibash Das, and Binoy Das. Two other members of their group and a cook returned to Wachem near Malana and informed officials.

      The rescue operation will see joint efforts of a team from Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports alongside a local group.

      The rescue groups will have satellite phones for effective and prompt action.
