An unusual scene unfolded in a bustling courtroom of the Kerala High Court, after a teary eyed petitioner stood before Justice PV Kunhikrishnan and her hands folded to seek justice.

According to the Bar and Bench portal, reacting to litigant Ramla Kabeer's plea for justice, Justice Kunhikrishnan said, "Judges are mortal and not deities. Usually the court of law is known as the ‘temple of justice’. But there is no god sitting on the bench. The judges are doing their constitutional duties and obligations."

Significantly, Justice Kunhikrishnan's observation revolved around an FIR lodged against Kabeer. The woman had been accused of using abusive language against Police personnel.

Subsequently, the case was quashed, and a departmental inquiry against the policeman was ordered.
