Mamata Banerjee goes for a jog in Spain, in her trademark saree and slippers | Watch

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee was seen on a jog in Spain’s Madrid, sporting her signature white saree and slippers. The 68-year-old was accompanied by her team in the jog.

The West Bengal CM has previously shared her exercise clips, including one in which she was seen jogging on a treadmill while holding a puppy.

The video came before Banerjee’s possible meeting with the President of La Liga, a popular Spanish soccer league.

“A nice jog can energise you for the day ahead. Stay fit, stay healthy everyone,” the West Bengal wrote in the video’s caption. The video garnered nearly 500,000 views in an hour.

The Trinamool Congress leader, who has been West Bengal’s Chief Minister for over a decade, is known for going on long walks. She also often walks long routes while campaigning for elections.

Banerjee, the first female West Bengal CM, has also often promoted the upsides of exercising daily. In 2019, she initiated a 10-kilometre-long jog in Darjeeling to advance the cause.
