Skin exfoliation is as essential as other skincare regimes like cleansing and moisturising.
But too much of anything can never do good to anyone, hence, one or twice a week is enough.

Overdoing it can lead to redness, dry skin, rough patches, skin irritation and rashes.

Here's how you can treat over-exfoliated skin

      • The first thing you should do is stop exfoliating your skin immediately
      • Applying an ice cube to your irritated skin can bring you some relief
      • Stop using products like foaming cleansers, retinol or anti-aging or anti-acne creams
      • Apply aloe vera extract to reduce redness and irritation
      • Use gentle moisturisers and chemical-free products
      • Restrain from makeup till the irritation subsides

Pro tip: Choose an exfoliant as per your skin type and always do a patch test before using any product.
