Avoiding eggs in summer? No, you need not do that. Here's what nutritionist advises

Many people avoid eating eggs during summer because they believe that eggs increase body heat and can lead to stomach problems in this season.

Recently, nutritionist Amita Gadre shared that consuming eggs in summer is advisable, but it's best to pair them with fibre-rich foods. Eating fruits and vegetables alongside will aid in better digestion of the eggs.

She also advises that eating eggs does not raise the body's heat, but not consuming them with the right amount of vegetables and fibre may lead to digestive and constipation issues.

That's why it's important to combine your eggs with whole grains, pulses, and salad leaves to ease digestion.

Benefits of eating eggs

Excellent Source of Protein: Eggs are one of the best sources of high-quality protein, containing all nine essential amino acids required for optimal health.

Rich in Vitamins and Minerals: Eggs are packed with vitamins and minerals such as vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin B12, riboflavin, folate, and selenium, which are essential for various bodily functions including immunity, bone health, and metabolism.

Promote Muscle Growth and Repair: The protein in eggs helps in muscle growth, repair, and maintenance, making them an ideal food for athletes and those engaged in regular physical activity.

Good for Eye Health: Eggs contain lutein and zeaxanthin, antioxidants that are beneficial for eye health and may reduce the risk of age-related macular degeneration and cataracts.

Brain Health: Choline, found abundantly in eggs, is essential for brain health and development, particularly in fetal development and during early childhood.

Heart Health: Contrary to past concerns, moderate egg consumption is not associated with an increased risk of heart disease in most people. In fact, eggs may improve heart health by increasing levels of HDL (good) cholesterol and improving overall cholesterol profile.

Weight Management: Eggs are filling and can help control appetite, making them a great addition to weight loss or weight maintenance diets.
