      South Indians love their share of ghee rice. It is the perfect comfort food great for lunch or dinner. Ghee rice is a traditional Indian dish made by cooking rice with ghee and spices. It's a simple yet flavorful recipe where long-grain rice is typically used and is often garnished with fried onions.

      However, recently, a social media influencer gave ghee rice a surprising twist! Read on.

      How to make blue ghee rice

      To make this viral rice, you need butterfly pea flower - 20 pcs, ghee - 2 tbsp, khada masala, salt - 1 tbsp, basmati rice - 1 cup, water - 3 cups, cashew - 10 pcs, raisins - 10 pcs, chopped Onions - 1 cup, bay leaf - 2 pcs.

      Start by boiling the flowers in water. Boil rice in the same water and let it absorb the blue colour. Once done, add ghee and keep aside. Next saute some ghee, chopped onion, cashews, raisins and bay leaves. Mix the tempering and the rice together, give it a good mix and serve hot.

      How did netizens react to the viral dish?

      There were mixed reactions to the post. One wrote, "Dekh kr bhi khane ka Mann nhi hua," while another wrote, "Es colour ke rice khane me atpata nahi lagega ? Mujhe to dekhne me hi alg lag raha hai."

      Another social media user pointed out that pea flowers are beneficial, "Ye aprajita ke ful hai..es rice ko khane se 4 benefits hai.1.boost ur immunity. 2.help in weight loss. 3. healthy heart 4. Reduce risk of cancer..nahi idea to Google check kr lo."

      Benefits of eating pea flower

      Pea flowers contain antioxidants that help protect cells from damage caused by free radicals. They also have inflammatory properties, which may help reduce inflammation in the body and alleviate related symptoms.
