Holi 2024: Follow these tips to enjoy festive season without adding extra kilos

Holi is here and without good food and fun festivities, celebrations are incomplete. Holi is also known as the Festival of Colors, is a vibrant celebration marking the arrival of spring in India.

During this joyous occasion, people gather to play with colored powders, dance to lively music, and indulge in festive treats. It is a time of unity, love, and renewal, where communities come together to embrace the spirit of togetherness and happiness.

However, in the festive season, we tend to indulge in sweets without considering the extra calories they bring.

Tips to enjoy the festival without weight gain

Portion Control: Instead of overindulging in sweets and snacks, practice portion control by taking small servings and savoring each bite.
Choose Wisely:
Opt for healthier alternatives or homemade versions of traditional Holi treats that are lower in calories and sugar.
Balance Your Plate:
Fill your plate with a variety of foods, including fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains, to ensure a balanced meal and prevent overeating.
Stay Active:
Incorporate physical activity into your day to help burn off any extra calories consumed during Holi celebrations. Take a walk, dance, or play outdoor games with friends and family.
Hydrate:
Drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated and help control your appetite. Avoid sugary beverages and opt for water, herbal teas, or infused water instead.
Mindful Eating:
Be mindful of your eating habits and listen to your body's hunger and fullness cues. Avoid mindless snacking and focus on enjoying each bite of your favorite Holi treats.
