While stale food is often associated with potential health risks, it's worth noting that certain food items, like Baasi Roti, can offer surprising nutritional benefits. Unlike many perishable foods, Rotis, made from just flour and water, undergo a dehydration process when roasted, allowing them to retain their integrity for up to 15 hours.

Furthermore, stale Rotis can actually contribute to a healthier digestive system and provide relief from gastrointestinal issues. Surprisingly, they also serve as a reliable source of energy. Moreover, the process of fermentation that occurs as Rotis age leads to an increase in essential nutrients, particularly Vitamin B12.

As per Simran Kaur, a nutritionist and diet & lifestyle coach, including stale Rotis in your diet can be a beneficial source of Vitamin B12 and can promote gut health. She recommends enjoying stale Rotis the next morning for breakfast, lightly heated and accompanied by a touch of ghee, salt, and pepper.
