Nutritionist suggests 3 common mistakes that you should avoid after meals

If you experience acidity and digestive issues right after meals then you must avoid these three common mistakes. Nutritionist Deepsikha Jain recently shared on Instagram three common mistakes made after eating that can have adverse effects on your digestive health.
Avoid lying down immediately after eating food, as it may cause acidity and gastric problems. Never take a shower just after a meal, as it suppresses blood flow to the stomach and hinders digestion.
Lastly, avoid drinking water or any other fluids with or immediately after eating your food as it dilutes stomach acids and causes gastric problems.

Tips to keep your digestive system healthy

  • Eat a balanced diet rich in fiber, fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.
  • Stay hydrated by drinking an adequate amount of water throughout the day.
  • Incorporate probiotics into your diet through yoghurt or fermented foods.
  • Limit intake of high-fat and processed foods.
  • Practice portion control and avoid overeating.
  • Chew your food thoroughly and eat slowly to aid digestion.
  • Include regular physical activity in your routine to promote bowel regularity.
  • Manage stress through relaxation techniques such as deep breathing or meditation.
