'Pani Puri' created history on this day; this delicacy has many names, how many do you know?

Google Doodle celebrated pani puri today by sharing an interactive pani puri game. Notably, on this day in 2015, a restaurant in Indore, Madhya Pradesh set a world record for serving the most flavors of pani puri by offering 51 options.

Well, this delicacy is one of the favourite snacks of South Asian people and has different names. In India, there are a total of 10 different names for pani puri. People in different parts of the country call pani puri by different names, here have a look:

Pani Puri- Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu

Gol Gappe- New Delhi, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh

Puchka- Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal

Pakodi- Interior parts of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh

Gup Chup- Odisha, parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Hyderabad, and Telangana

Padaka- Aligarh, UP

Pani ke Bataashe- Central India, some part of UP and Rajasthan

Tikki- Hoshangabad in Madhya Pradesh

Paani ke Patashe- Some parts of Uttar Pradesh
