None of us is unaware about the harmful effects of blue rays emitted from electronic devices like laptops, tablets or phones, but we still tend to not go to sleep without fiddling with those devices at least for five minutes. However, experts have warned that blue rays harm our sleep cycle and can cause more harm than we think.

Blue lights rays work almost like sunlight

Blue light rays have shorter wavelength and affect our circadian processes. According to researchers it has the ability to suppress melatonin in our body just like sunlight. In simple words, direct contact with these rays is equivalent to directly looking at the sun which obviously sends our brain the message that it’s time to be awake and not sleep.

      Shut down devices before bedtime

So, scientists suggest to not expose yourself to electronic devices at least two hours before going to bed. Even blue light filters do not help you sleep. So, rather than just the blue light, turn off the urge to use your phone and sleep in peace.
