Suffering from a brutal hangover that's putting a damper on your morning? Put aside the carb-loading, Pedialyte chugging, or attempting to gulp down the hair of the dog – there might be an unexpected saviour waiting for you right in the grocery aisle.

According to an expert, the ultimate hangover cure lies in two surprising items: Kombucha and kimchi.

These fermented products can work wonders in alleviating those pounding headaches and stomach-churning sensations that often follow a night out on the town. The key to their effectiveness lies in their probiotic content, which promotes improved gut health.

Registered dietitian Lucy Kerrison explained, "We know the liver is responsible for alcohol metabolism, so looking after your gut health and liver can have a positive impact on alcohol metabolism." So, consider reaching for Kombucha and kimchi next time you're battling a wicked hangover.

She further said that fermented food that have higher salts in them like kimchi and sauerkraut can work wonders.
