Be it summer, monsoon or winter, it is important to pay attention towards building immunity of our body. Among many other benefits, tomato juice also increases immunity. Rich in anti-oxidants, vitamin C, vitamin E and beta carotene tomatoes help in protecting cells from free radicals that damage immunity. Hence, health experts recommend drinking a glass of tomato juice daily.

Other benefits of drinking tomato juice

Research by 'Food Science and Nutrition' suggests that tomato juice can be helpful in controlling blood pressure as well. The vitamins and calcium present in tomatoes have an important role in repairing and strengthening bone tissues as well as improving digestion.

According to a study published in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences, lycopene present in tomatoes is helpful in reducing bone density loss in women after menopause. Chances of osteoporosis are also reduced by regular consumption of tomatoes.

Too much tomatoes can be harmful

A glass of tomato juice a day is beneficial for your health, but too much consumption can be harmful as well. Someone suffering from kidney stones or any other stomach problem must consult a doctor before including tomato juice in diet.
