Recently actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu took to Instagram and shared her morning routine that includes exercising as she soaks up the winter sun. The diva also shared details about her body weight and fat percentage in her body. She also revealed that her body's metabolic age is 23, whereas her age is 36. Samantha's fat percentage is also a mere 24 percent.

On that note, let us look at some ways to maintain healthy body fat.

How to maintain healthy fat

Everybody needs fat to keep warm, store energy, and even help regulate hormones. However, too much fat, especially surrounding your organs can cause big problems. Having excess fat can cause diseases like diabetes and certain types of cancer.

Here is how you can maintain healthy body fat

Maintain a balanced diet

The first step to maintaining a healthy amount of body fat is to focus on a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains. Make sure to not indulge in processed foods, sugary beverages, and saturated fats.

Control the amount you eat

When serving lunch or dinner, switch to eating in a smaller plate. Make sure you are eating slowly and paying attention to help regulate your food intake.

Exercise is the key

Going for a walk or a swim is of utmost importance. Cardiovascular activities burn calories, while strength training builds muscle, which can boost metabolism and help in fat loss.

Get enough sleep

Not sleeping on time, or not sleeping enough can have big implications. Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep per night.

Stress Management

Persistent stress may lead to weight gain, particularly in the abdominal region. Incorporate stress-relieving practices like meditation, yoga, or deep breathing exercises to mitigate this impact.

Samantha took to Instagram and revealed that she weights 50 kg and has 24 percent fat in her body. Her metabolic age is 23! Check out her post here:
