      Thyroid is a disease that occurs in the thyroid gland. This gland is butterfly-shaped and helps in controlling the vital functions of the body. Hyperthyroidism occurs when the body produces too much thyroid hormone, while hypothyroidism occurs when it makes too little of this hormone.
