World Heart Day 2023: World Heart Day 2023 is observed on September 29th, serves as a global platform to raise awareness about cardiovascular health and promote heart-healthy lifestyles. On this day, individuals, organizations, and healthcare professionals unite to emphasize the importance of heart disease prevention and management.

It's an opportunity to encourage people worldwide to adopt healthier habits, such as regular exercise, a balanced diet, and stress management, to reduce the risk of heart-related conditions. World Heart Day 2023 highlights the significance of heart health in maintaining a fulfilling and active life, inspiring communities to prioritize their cardiovascular well-being.

Study says laughter is the ultimate heart medicine

Researchers from Brazil conducted a study to illustrate the potential of "laughter therapy" in improving cardiovascular well-being and mitigating heart disease symptoms.

The results indicated that integrating laughter therapy into healthcare systems, such as the UK's NHS, could be particularly advantageous for individuals at risk of heart issues.

Unveiled at the esteemed annual gathering of the European Society of Cardiology, the research proposes that laughter's positive influence on cardiovascular health is linked to its capacity to release endorphins. These endorphins play a pivotal role in maintaining optimal blood pressure and reducing heart strain by suppressing stress hormones.

This innovative approach may ultimately reduce the dependency on medications, as laughter therapy holds promise in diminishing inflammation and lowering the likelihood of heart attacks and strokes.
