Have you thought about your cutting board and wondered how clean it actually is? You can scrub it sparkly clean and still your chopping board may have 200 times more bacteria than a toilet seat. According to research by the University of Arizona, a cutting board contains an unimaginable amount of faecal bacteria.

A video shared by Instagram influencer Miranda Wilson shows her cleaning her cutting board with extreme precision and sans using any chemicals. She also revealed that all the cuts made by a knife on a cutting board are the ideal place for bacteria to thrive. Hence, it is of utmost importance that you clean your cutting board every few weeks.

Within a matter of minutes, you can clean your cutting board and make it bacteria-free. Here is how to clean it.

With just 3 ingredients that are easily available at home, you can make the perfect solution to your cutting board bacteria problem. All you need is some sea salt, vinegar, and a lemon! Drizzle the salt and vinegar on the cutting board and scrub for 5 minutes with lemon. The last step is to rinse it with water.

Dry the cutting board before using it. Avoid using plastic cutting boards and make sure to keep the wooden ones clean!
