CWG Cricket Preview: India Vs Pakistan - It’s now or never for Women in Blue!

India vs Pakistan - the mother of all battles!

While the match between the two women's cricket teams may not feel like a clash of the titans, it sure does excite the fans on either side of the border.

Both India & Pakistan lost their opening Group A encounters at the Commonwealth Games. While Pakistan never really got going in their run-chase of 145 against Barbados, it was India’s surrender against the Aussies that baffled the world.

Many are probably still trying to decipher how the Women in Blue managed to lose the game when a victory seemed like the only result possible. But the World Champion Australian team showed why you never say never!

India will also be hoping for a better performance from their bowling department, who were taken to the cleaners even after Renuka Singh’s sensational 4/18 had the Southern Stars on the mat at one point.

For the Women in Blue, keeping Pakistani all-rounder Nida Dar quiet will be key on Sunday. Dar struck an unbeaten 50 off 31 balls in the last game but found no support from the other end.

While there’s no doubt India will start as favourites against Pakistan on Sunday, Harmanpreet Kaur’s side just can’t afford to take the Women in Green for granted, for a loss may very well send them packing out of the tournament.

A mouth-watering contest awaits!
