T20 World Cup 2021: Top 5 Indian stars to watch out for

T20 World Cup 2021: As India begin the quest for its 2nd World T20 triumph and first since the inaugural edition in 2007, here are the 5 Indians stars who can make a difference

Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah will spearhead the bowling line up not just in the powerplay, but also in the death overs. He is also coming off a successful IPL and has been in red hot form. Bumrah finished as Mumbai Indians' highest wicket taker with 21 scalps. He was mightily impressive in the UAE leg as well and Team India would hope that he emulates his steller form into the World Cup T20.

Varun Chakravarthy

One bowler which many teams are looking to decode is Varun Chakravarthy. The mystery spinner has been tough to read and has impressed in back-to-back IPL season in UAE itself. He finished IPL 2021 as the 6th highest wicket taker with 18 scalps. His economy rate of 6.5 was also the best among top 21 wicket takers of this season of the IPL.

KL Rahul

Responsibility of scoring quick runs will lie on the shoulders of KL Rahul. He has had a sensational IPL 2021 and finished as the 3rd highest run getter of the season and averaged a whopping 626 runs. He also smashed an unbeaten 42-ball-98 in his last game for Punjab Kings. While Ishan Kishan may get a go ahead of him, KL Rahul still remains a top contender.

Rohit Sharma

One man who isn't in a very good form but can rip apart any bowling line up on his day is Rohit Sharma. The Mumbai Indians skipper didn't have the best of IPLs but has been a top performer for India. With no pressure of captaincy, the 3rd highest run getter in T20 internationals will be etching to find his mojo back.

Ravindra Jadeja

There are few who win games with the bat, some perform with the ball and few are great fielders and then walks in Ravindra Jadeja who does it all. Moreover, with Hardik Pandya not in the best of forms, Jaddu will take up the finishers' role as well. He has had a prolific IPL and picked up 13 wickets for CSK at a brilliant economy of 7 an over. He also smashed 227 runs at an average of over 75, the highest in the tournament. Sir Jadeja also had an economy of under 7, which is nothing less than gold dust in T20 cricket.

Honorary mention: MS Dhoni

Last but not the least, another man India would rely on would be MS Dhoni. But this time not as a finisher but as a mentor. MSD will help Virat Kohli's men to prepare better for crunch moments and will try and help India clinch its 2nd World T20 title.
