VIDEO: Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal couldn't hold back tears during retirement announcement

Bangladesh's ODI captain, Tamim Iqbal, delivered a shocking announcement on Thursday as he tearfully announced his immediate retirement from all forms of international cricket.

During a press conference in Chattogram, an emotional Tamim revealed, "Yesterday against Afghanistan was my last international game, I am retiring from international cricket effective right now."

With tears streaming down his face, Iqbal struggled to compose himself as he shared the news.

"There was no sudden reason behind this, I was thinking about it for quite some time" Tamim added.

The 34-year-old batsman leaves behind an impressive legacy, having amassed 8,313 runs in 241 ODIs for Bangladesh, including 14 centuries—the highest by any Bangladeshi player.
