The Wembley Stadium was a sea of blue and white as Manchester City edged one step closer to a historic treble with a win over the Red Devils.

The first ever major final between the Manchester giants had the most explosive of starts with the Cityzens captain Ilkay Gundogan scoring the fastest goal in FA Cup Final’s history just 12 seconds into the match.

He slammed the ball past Manchester United’s David de Gea to score the opening goal.

Pep Guardiola's men came into the match as firm favourites but could not have dreamed of such a start in the London sunshine.

Manchester United levelled on 33 minutes through Bruno Fernandes' penalty after Jack Grealish was harshly penalised for handball.

But the City captain, in what could be his final game for the club on English soil, volleyed home the winner six minutes into the second-half.

Man City completed a domestic double at Wembley and can become just the second side, after United in 1998/99, to win the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League in the same season should they beat Inter Milan to become European champions for the first time on June 10.
