According to weather.com, as of now it is not raining at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, the rain clouds are currently moving towards Motera, where Narendra Modi Stadium is located. Also the weather has been improving with chances of rainfall have been reducing.

For the supporters who had come to fill the stadium, the weather forecast for the final on Sunday didn't look too encouraging, and things only got worse.

Around 6:30 p.m. local time, which was 30 minutes before the throw, it started to rain here. It continued to rain nonstop for the next two and a half hours at least.

Nevertheless, the rain did stop after 9:00 p.m. local time, and the covers were removed. Two super soppers had been working since about 8:30 p.m. IST.

The players had begun warming up, but a strong downpour forced them off the pitch and the ground crew to cover it once more.
