IPL 2022: BCCI looking to host the entire IPL 2022 tournament in Maharashtra?

With fresh Covid-19 cases about to breach the 2 lakh cases per day barrier, BCCI is very concerned about the venues & the manner in which it will host IPL 2022. The League which is expected to be played in April & May 2022 with 2 new teams this year is expected to be now hosted entirely in Maharashtra.

According to a report in the Times of India, BCCI officials are planning to host all the matches at 3 venues in and around Mumbai. The Brabourne Cricket Stadium & Wankhede in Mumbai and the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai have been shortlisted by the BCCI to host the games in case the Covid-wave doesn't subside by April.

The work has already start in this regard and the BCCI and IPL officials have began their communication with state government as well as Mumbai and Maharashtra cricket associations.
