IPL 2022 DC vs GT: Lockie Ferguson's 4 wickets help Gujarat Titans beat Delhi Capitals by 14 runs

Gujarat Titans registered their second win in IPL 2022 after they defeated Delhi Capitals by 14 runs at MCA Stadium in Pune on Saturday.

Chasing a competitive 171-run target, Delhi were off to a poor start as they lost three wickets inside the powerplay. Ferguson was phenomenal with the new ball and removed Prithvi Shaw and Mandeep Singh. But a counter-attacking 61-run stand between Rishabh Pant and Lalit Yadav put Delhi's chase on course. However, the Titans pulled things back after Lalit got run out. Ferguson was exceptional at the back end as well, sending Rishabh Pant, who scored 43 runs, and Axar Patel back to Pavillion in quick succession.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Shami ensured there would be no late fightback from Delhi's lower order and removed the tailenders as Delhi managed to score 157-9 in 20 Overs.

Earlier, Shubman Gill produced a masterclass and smashed DC bowlers all around the park. Gujarat got off to a poor start too as Mustafizur Rahman removed Mathew Wade in the first over. Then, Gill stitched a 42-run stand with Vijay Shankar before the latter was cleaned up by Kuldeep Yadav.

Gill and captain Hardik Pandya revived the Titans' innings with a 65-run stand for the third wicket before the duo was separated by Khaleel Ahmed. Gill struck six boundaries and four sixes during his stunning 84-run knock before getting dismissed. David Miller and Rahul Tewatia contributed unbeaten 20 and 14 respectively before Mustafizur returned in the death overs and scalped two wickets in the last over. Gujarat posted 171-6 in 20 Overs.
