Chasing a modest 150-run target, Lucknow were always on top due to a lack of scoreboard pressure. KL Rahul and de Kock provided LSG a superb start as the duo stitched a 73-run opening stand. Delhi spinners led by Kuldeep Yadav stemmed the run flow in the middle overs but de Kock's 80 runs innings ensured Lucknow's chase would remain on course.

Delhi did bring themselves back in the game with a brilliant couple of overs from Mustafizur Rahman and Shardul Thakur. But Krunal held his nerve in the penultimate over, taking Mustafizur for cleaners before Badoni finished the game in style as Lucknow won the match by 6 wickets. Anrich Nortje had a horrid outing on his return as he was barred from bowling after he bowled two beamers.

Earlier, Delhi lost their way after a fiery knock from Prithvi Shaw upfront. David Warner failed to make an impression in his first match for Delhi Capitals. Lucknow bounced back after Shaw's 61-run knock and dried the run flow in the middle overs.

Rishabh Pant failed to accelerate the run-scoring in the death overs as well though he stitched a 74-run stand with Sarfaraz Khan. Lucknow conceded only 19 runs in the last three overs as Holder and Avesh bowled with great line and length.

Young leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi was the standout performer for Lucknow as the youngster returned with the figures of 2 for 22 in his 4 Overs.
