IPL 2022, Match 35, KKR vs GT preview: Struggling Kolkata Knight Riders take on Gujarat Titans

IPL 2022: Kolkata Knight Riders have lost three consecutive matches in IPL 2022 and would look to make a comeback with a win when they take on the good-looking Gujarat Titans at Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai on Saturday.

Kolkata Knight Riders have won 3 out of 7 matches and lost their previous game against Rajasthan Royals. From captain Shreyas Iyer, Aaron Finch to Pat Cummins, Riders can turn the match anytime. KKR’s Andre Russell, Aaron Finch, Shreyas Iyer can be a big threat to Gujarat. Except Shreyas Iyer, no player from KKR is in the top 20 players with the most runs in IPL 2022. Varun Chakravarthy has failed to make an impact so far. However, Sunil Naraine and Andre Russell have been bowling economically and also taking wickets. Umesh Yadav may pose a challenge to GT’s batsmen.

Gujarat Titans have been enjoying their maiden IPL season so far. Mathew Wade’s replacement Wriddhiman Saha couldn’t perform well in the previous match. Vijay Shankar has been unable to contribute to the team’s wins. The middle order looks impressive with David Miller, Hardik Pandya and Abhinav Manohar. Hardik Pandya will possibly return after sitting out due to injury vs CSK. With Shubman Gill, Rashid Khan and Rahul Tewatia, the team looks organised and balanced. Gujarat’s bowling unit is strong and KKR’s batting line-up may find it difficult to score in front of Gujarat’s bowlers, especially in front of Mohammed Shami and Rashid Khan.
