IPL 2022, RCB VS SRH: 3rd golden duck of the season for Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli had earlier registered ducks in 2008, 2014, and 2017 against Mumbai, Punjab and Kolkata respectively in IPL.

IPL 2022, RCB VS SRH: 3rd golden duck of the season for Virat Kohli

Once RCB's go-to man, the bowlers' worst fear, Virat Kohli, took an apologetic walk, back to the pavilion just after the first ball of the innings.

It was a heartful sight for the Kohli fans yet again this season as the magnificent Kohli suffered his 3rd Golden duck of the season. The fans, the skipper Faf du Plessis, and Kohli himself were dumbstruck when Kane Williamson got an easy catch as Hyderabad's Jagadeesha Suchith removed Kohli on the very first ball of the innings.

This was his 2nd golden duck against Kane Williamson's team. The ex-RCB skipper became Marco Jansen's dream wicket when the two teams last met this season. In the following game against LSG, Virat Kohli again fell for a golden duck off Dushmantha Chameera.

Apparently, the 33-year-old cricketer has 6 golden ducks in his IPL career so far. This evidently shows the dip in Kohli's form as he had only 3 golden ducks in 14 seasons of IPL. But, this season alone he went back to the pavilion three times off the first delivery

He had registered ducks in 2008, 2014 and 2017 against Mumbai, Punjab and Kolkata respectively in IPL.

It was a matter of a single and Kohli who has 6,499 runs in 218 games in IPL, would have become the first batter to reach a significant landmark of 6500 runs in IPL in SRH’s game.

Kohli’s form has been one of the major concerns for RCB in the 2022 season of IPL. Once RCB's run machine, Kohli this year, has scored 216 runs in 12 games at an average of 19 so far.
