IPL 2022, RCB VS SRH: Hasaranga, Karthik star in Bangalore's 67-run win vs Hyderabad

Sweet revenge for Royal Challengers Bangalore!

After getting all out for 68 in their first meeting earlier this season, the Faf du Plessis-led side crushed Sunrisers Hyderabad by 67-runs at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday evening. RCB who remain in 4th spot, strengthened their position on the points table with their 7th win in the IPL points table.

Chasing a mammoth 192, Sunrisers Hyderabad got a horror start as both their openers walked back to the pavilion in the first over itself. Rahul Tripathi was fighting a lone battle, the batter smashed a 58 in 37 but did not get any help from the other end, except Aiden Markram, along with whom he made a valuable 50-run stand before the latter fell to Hasaranga. With his 5 wicket haul, the Sri Lankan cricketer restricted SRH to just 125 in 19.5 overs.

Earlier, Virat Kohli went back to the pavilion for the third time on a golden duck. However, RCB captain Faf du Plessis and Rajat Patidar stitched a 105-run stand for the second wicket. Jagadeesha Suchith ended Rajat's innings at 48 but Faf du Plessis remained unbeaten for 73 runs and kept one end intact. SRH bowlers bowled brilliantly in the death overs and did not allow Glenn Maxwell to accelerate from ball one. But Dinesh Karthik took debutant Fazalhaq Farooqi to the cleaners and smashed three sixes in the last over. Karthik's 8-ball 30 propelled Bangalore to 192-3.
