Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) kept their IPL 2022 playoffs hopes alive after they defeated table-toppers Gujarat Titans by 8 wickets at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday (May 19). In order to qualify for the playoffs, now, RCB would be hoping that Delhi Capitals will lose their last league fixture against Mumbai Indians on Saturday. However, after Bangalore's victory Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings are eliminated from IPL 2022 given the two teams can maximum attain 14 points on IPL 2022 leaderboard.

Meanwhile, the top-four teams on IPL 2022 points table have more or equal to 16 points. Rajasthan Royals also have 16 points and now if even lose their match on Friday with a small margin, they will make it to the playoffs.

Notably, Gujarat and Lucknow Super Giants are already qualified for the playoffs.

Moreover, Jos Buttler continues to be the leading run-scorer in IPL 2022 with 627 runs in 13 games and currently holding the orange cap. Wanindu Hasaranga has regained the purple cap from Yuzvendra Chahal after he returned with the figures of one for 24 against Gujarat Titans on Thursday.
