TV ratings agency Broadcast Audience Research Council has decided to pause weekly ratings for news channels for three months. Amid the row over alleged rigging of TRPs, the agency said that it will review its system. The suspension of ratings applies to all English, Hindi, regional and business news channels. Mumbai police have filed cases against Republic TV and 2 Marathi channels over allegedly manipulating TRPs. Owners of the Marathi channels have been arrested and the directors and promoters of Republic TV are being investigated.
