In order to fight the battle against infections, it is integral to keep your immunity in check. A weaker immunity can make it harder for your body to recover quickly. While eating a balanced diet all day is important, there’s nothing like kick-starting your day with foods that give your immune system a boost.

Add these foods to your breakfast to reap the benefits:

    OATS

Oats are extremely rich in dietary fibre and have anti-microbial properties which makes them a great immunity breakfast. They also contain selenium and zinc, two essential nutrients for warding off infection and helping you stay in fighting shape.

    FIG OR ANJEER

A tiny fruit with big benefits, figs are loaded with immune-boosting Vitamins A and C, potassium, calcium and magnesium. The fibre and antioxidant properties in figs or anjeer not only supports immunity but also helps maintain oxygen levels in the blood.

    PAPAYA

Bright, tropical fruit papaya helps keep our stomach clean and is a good source of vitamin C. Best enjoyed uncooked and ripe, papaya has good amounts of vitamin B, folate and potassium. It also contains an enzyme called papain which is very good for the digestive system.

    CURD

If you start your morning with parathas, then add some curd on the side. You can even consume yoghurt as a post-exercise snack after your morning workouts for a flush of energy. The probiotics in curd help support the immune system and it's also high in protein.

    AMLA

Some amla in the morning can have numerous health benefits. Whether you have it raw with a sprinkle of salt, make some amla juice or suck on amla candies, this berry has amazing benefits for your skin, hair, stomach and immunity. Amla is rich in vitamin C, E and A as well as iron and calcium.
