    India has recorded another sharp single-day spike of nearly 90,000 coronavirus cases. Health ministry data released on Wednesday morning showed that the country reported 89,706 new infections and over 1,100 deaths the last 24 hours. The spike took total number of cases past the 43 lakh-mark and number of deaths due to Covid is now nearing 74,000. India now has close to 9 lakh active cases while nearly 34 lakh have so far recovered from the deadly contagion pushing the recovery rate to 77.32 per cent.
