Increasing evidence shows that the century-old tuberculosis vaccine called BCG, could protect against respiratory infections.

According to a Bloomberg report, scientists in the Netherlands are all set to test the BCG vaccine on thousands of frail elderly people to check if the vaccine works against the novel coronavirus.

The Dutch project aims to recruit approximately 7,000 elderly patients over the next two months and release the findings in the next 6 months.
