Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday urged devotees to complete their online registration before setting out on the Char Dham Yatra to ensure a hassle-free pilgrimage. He emphasized that the state government is committed to making the yatra smooth, safe, and comfortable for pilgrims from across the country and abroad.
Sharing an update on X, Dhami stated, "Our government, giving top priority to the convenience and safety of devotees coming from within the country and abroad, is working with full commitment to make the Char Dham Yatra smooth, safe, and comfortable."
Highlighting the high number of registrations already completed, he added, "So far, more than 11 lakh pilgrims have completed their online registration. I urge all of you to ensure your registration is done before embarking on the journey to avoid any kind of inconvenience."
The Char Dham Yatra, a revered pilgrimage covering Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath, holds immense spiritual significance and attracts millions of devotees each year.
On Sunday, Dhami reviewed the preparations for the Yatra and confirmed that the dates for opening the shrines have been finalized. He assured that the Uttarakhand government is working at full speed to ensure a seamless pilgrimage experience.
Speaking to ANI, Dhami compared the commencement of the Yatra to a festival for the people of Uttarakhand. He remarked, "The dates for the opening of the doors of all the Dhams have come, and we were already preparing for it at a fast pace. This time, we are making all the preparations so that our Yatra is historic and good. The beginning of the Yatra is like a festival for us."
Meanwhile, on March 23, the Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority (USDMA) announced its preparations to ensure the safety of pilgrims. In collaboration with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), a large-scale mock drill is planned for April to enhance disaster response mechanisms and strengthen coordination among various agencies.
Secretary of Disaster Management and Rehabilitation, Vinod Kumar Suman, held a departmental meeting with experts from USDMA, ULMMC, and U-Prepare to discuss all aspects of the upcoming drill. He stated that the department is continuously working on disaster preparedness to handle any potential emergencies during the Yatra.
Suman further informed that NDMA has provided a tentative schedule for the mock drill, and USDMA has already started preparations. A meeting will soon be convened with district officials and relevant departments to finalize the details of the exercise.

Dhami further clarified that the bill was not targeted at any specific community. Instead, he stated that its implementation would put an end to false and illegal claims while ensuring a fair resolution of disputes concerning land and property. "This bill is not against any particular community but has been brought to safeguard the rights of all citizens. Its implementation will put a stop to false and illegal claims, enabling fair resolution of disputes related to land and property. At the same time, it will ensure that Waqf properties are not misused and are utilized for the broader interest of society," his post further read.

The Delhi Police, in coordination with paramilitary forces, has ramped up security arrangements in multiple areas deemed vulnerable, particularly in localities with a history of protests.
"To maintain law and order at multiple sensitive locations, we have intensified night patrolling, and additional deployment will be arranged as needed," a senior police officer stated.
The Waqf (Amendment) Bill, which has been a subject of intense debate, was passed in Parliament in the early hours of Friday. The legislation secured approval in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha amid strong discussions between the government and the opposition.
The amendment is aimed at streamlining the administration of waqf properties and addressing concerns related to their management and disputes.
In light of the bill&rsquo;s passage, authorities are taking preemptive steps to avoid any untoward incidents. Police forces remain on high alert, especially in areas where previous demonstrations over similar issues have taken place.

While opposition leaders criticized the Centre for its inaction, Union Home Minister Amit Shah defended the government, citing ongoing peace efforts.

The Rajya Sabha early Friday adopted a Statutory Resolution confirming the imposition of President's Rule in strife-torn Manipur with members across party lines supporting the decision.
Even though opposition members slammed the Centre for its failure to restore law and order in the state and control violence, the government said it was making all efforts to bring normalcy in the state, asserting that its policy was not to impose President's Rule in states.
Speaking at the end of the discussion on the resolution, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said a meeting between the two communities from Manipur is likely to take place in the national capital soon.
Shah informed the House that two meetings between the communities had already taken place in Manipur while the House was in session.
"...We are investing our efforts to bring peace back in Manipur. Thirteen meetings have happened. We brought up the subject late as meetings were going on. The next meeting is in the offing and the issue will see its resolution soon," the minister said.
"The path to communication is open... We don't use this for political mileage," Shah added.
He accused the Congress and other parties of trying to spread misinformation as there was "zero violence" in Manipur.
The minister claimed that on February 11, the Manipur chief minister had resigned and as the news broke, the Congress brought a no-confidence against him even though it did not have the numbers.
"I want to set the record straight. There was no no-confidence motion against the Manipur government. The Congress did not have the required numbers. They were not in a position to bring a no-confidence motion and the chief minister of Manipur had resigned," Shah said.
He said after the resignation of former chief minister N Biren Singh, no other party, including the Congress which has five MLAs, staked claim and President's Rule was imposed.
Though he admitted that 260 lives were lost in Manipur in the ethnic strife, he said the majority of people were killed in the first week of violence.
He said talks were on with both, Meitei and Kuki, communities for a peaceful solution.
Shah also attacked the opposition for "politicising" the violence and said similar incidents took place in the state during the Congress regime, when no prime minister visited the state Seven years ago, he said, a 225-day curfew was imposed in Manipur.
Even in those days of the Congress regime, no prime minister visited Manipur, he claimed.
Referring to his "Communist friends" objection to the prime minister not visiting the state, Shah said, "I don't understand what is the problem. Are they trying to safeguard Naxalism or violence in Manipur." Shah said they should be competent enough to differentiate between ethnic strife in Manipur and the problem of Naxalism.
These problems are not the same, they are different, he asserted.
The home minister accused the TMC of following "dual standards," claiming that 250 lives were lost in the post-poll violence in West Bengal alone and the state took no action in the Sandeshkhali and RG Kar Hospital incidents.
"We are not supporting any gender crime happening in Manipur. We will deal with that. You could not deal with what was happening in West Bengal," he said.
Shah said the northeast has a history of ethnic struggle, but the BJP never "politicised" it.
In 1993, he said, the Naga-Kuki strife broke out and continued till 1998, claiming 750 lives.
But, the then PM did not visit the region, he claimed.
Shah said such struggles take time to cool off and many a time five years have taken for normalcy to return.
Earlier, initiating the discussion on a statutory resolution on the imposition of President's Rule in Manipur, Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit strife-torn Manipur at the earliest to restore order.
Kharge said the Modi government failed to govern the northeastern state despite having a majority there. "For nearly two years, Manipur has been burning and the government has totally failed in stopping the violence," he said.
He alleged that the BJP's "double-engine" government promised stability, but instead, delivered "bloodshed, division, and economic collapse" to the state.
"I would urge the prime minister to visit Manipur, meet the affected people resolve their issues and set right the law and order situation there," he said.
The Congress leader also demanded a thorough inquiry into the violence in Manipur and also a white paper tabled in the Parliament on the matter.&nbsp;

Parliament early Friday approved the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025, after the Rajya Sabha gave its nod to the contentious legislation following an over 13-hour debate.
The discussion witnessed staunch objections from opposition parties, which termed the Bill "anti-Muslim" and "unconstitutional" with the government responding that the "historic reform" would benefit the minority community.
The Bill was passed in the Rajya Sabha with 128 members voting in favour and 95 opposing it. It was passed in the Lok Sabha early Thursday, with 288 members supporting it and 232 against it.
Parliament also approved the Mussalman Wakf (Repeal) Bill, 2025, with the Rajya Sabha approving it. The Lok Sabha has already given its nod to the Bill.
Participating in the discussion, Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju accused the Congress and other opposition parties of scaring the Muslim community with the Bill and asserted that the central government worked for all with the motto of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas'.
Rijiju said the Waqf Board is a statutory body and, as such, like all government bodies, it should be secular. He said the inclusion of a few non-Muslims on the Waqf Board would not alter the decisions of the body and instead would add value.
The minister also claimed that the Bill brought by the government has incorporated several suggestions made by the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) as well as the stakeholders.
The Opposition INDIA bloc parties opposed the Bill, alleging that it was "unconstitutional" and aimed at targeting Muslims. They claimed that the aim of the legislation was to take over the properties of Muslims and hand them to corporations.
Leaders of several opposition parties, including the Congress, the TMC, the DMK, the AAP, the Shiv Sena (UBT), the Samajwadi Party, the RJD, and Left parties, alleged that the Bill was brought by the government with mala fide intentions. Some of them also demanded the withdrawal of the Bill.
Intervening in the discussion, Leader of the House and BJP leader J P Nadda said the Bill is not against Muslims and claimed that it is aimed at helping the poor and protecting the rights of Muslim women.
Nadda accused the Congress of making Muslim women second-grade citizens during its rule at the Centre.
"You made the Indian Muslim ladies second-grade citizens," Nadda said, referring to the Congress party and added, "It was only India where Muslim women were not brought into the mainstream." While triple talaq was banned in Muslim countries such as Egypt, Sudan, Bangladesh, and Syria several years ago, the Congress-led UPA government did nothing for Muslim women while it was in power for a decade.
"We believe in real service, not lip service...I stand in support of the (Waqf) Bill as its sole purpose is to bring reforms in managing the Waqf properties," Nadda said.
Rijiju said the Waqf Board is a statutory body and all government bodies should be secular. Explaining the inclusion of non-Muslims on the Board, he said the number of non-Muslims has been restricted to only four out of 22.
He also accused the Congress and other opposition parties of "pushing Muslims out of the mainstream." For 60 years, he alleged, the Congress and others ruled the country but did not do much for the welfare of Muslims, who continue to remain poor.
Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge said the government is trying to sow the seeds of conflict by suppressing Muslims through the Bill and appealed to the ruling party not to disturb peace and harmony in the country.
Kharge, also the Congress president, said the legislation is "unconstitutional" and not good for Indian Muslims. He urged the government to withdraw the Bill which has a lot of "mistakes" and not make it a prestige issue.
He also accused the NDA government of trying to create trouble for Muslims, claiming that the Bill seeks to destroy the community by usurping their properties.
Earlier, initiating the debate, Congress MP Syed Naseer Hussain termed the proposed legislation "unconstitutional" and alleged that it targets the Muslim community.
He also accused the BJP of using the proposed legislation to trigger communal tension and polarisation in the society to strengthen its vote bank.
He alleged that the Bill seeks to treat Muslims as "second-class" citizens in the country. Hussain also noted that the BJP-led government was trying to bulldoze the legislation in the Upper House.
Manoj Jha of the RJD said the "content and intent" of the Bill puts a question mark on the government's motives. He also said the government should send the Bill to the select committee of Parliament once again.
Jha alleged the Bill was akin to "dog whistle politics" to keep Muslims away from the mainstream.
Samajwadi Party MP Ram Gopal Yadav emphasised all religions must be treated with respect and the government must prevent India from "shifting towards a totalitarian state." He said India has a huge population of minorities, especially Muslims and if a large section of people feel that injustice has been meted out to them, any efforts to appease them will not work.
John Brittas of the CPI(M) said the Bill was an attack on the Constitution.
"It attacks the basic tenets of India's Constitution, its secularism, democracy, and equality. There is a cardinal violation happening. They have already discriminated against people by segregating them. They are now segregating God from God. Hindu God from Allah," he said.
Y V Subba Reddy of the YSRCP too opposed the Bill, saying it was "unconstitutional".
Congress member Abhishek Singhvi said the Bill has omitted the concept of 'Waqf by user', at least prospectively, by disallowing Waqfs to be created based on uninterrupted usage over a significant period.
"This is a deliberate attempt by the government to further its own agenda by minimising protection conferred upon Waqf properties with the right hand and significantly increase its own control and power to permanently claim these properties with its left hand," Singhvi alleged.
Independent MP Kapil Sibal said non-Muslims could earlier form the Waqf Board too, but this Bill does not allow that anymore. He said there should be reform in the Hindu religion and questioned why only one community was being targeted.
"Bring a law to ensure that women have rights in bequeathing property," he said, urging the government to make a commitment in the House that it would bring a law to maintain the rights of daughters.
While BJD's Muzibulla Khan said Muslims were concerned over the inclusion of non-Muslims on the Waqf Board, party leader Sasmit Patra said the BJD had not issued any whip to its MPs and they were free to vote of their own will.
DMK leader Tiruchi Siva said his party opposes the Bill as it is legally flawed.
"I stand on behalf of my party to oppose this Bill... We reject the Bill in its entirety because it is legally flawed, constitutionally indefensible and morally reprehensible," he stated.
"Why is a certain community being targeted is our question?" Siva asked.
The intention of the government is mala fide and deplorable, and the DMK is certain that the Supreme Court will strike the Bill down, Siva said.
AAP member Sanjay Singh said the Bill is against the tenets of the Indian Constitution, and alleged that the government wants to control Muslim religious bodies through the legislation.
Singh noted that after Muslims, the government will target other religious bodies of the Sikhs, Christians, and Jains and hand them over to their "friends".
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut spoke against the Bill and questioned the government's intent.
"Why is the government so worried about poor Muslims?" Raut said, accusing the NDA of diverting attention from US President Donald Trump's announcement of reciprocal tariffs on India.&nbsp;

Why weren't these candidates given a similar option? The initial judge who passed this ruling is now a BJP MP. This verdict, I believe, is a product of a BJP and CPM conspiracy," she alleged.

A man has been arrested for allegedly setting afire a woman&rsquo;s house in Mumbai&rsquo;s Gorai area after an argument and threatening to harm her, an official said on Thursday.
Accused Vishal Udmale, alias Junglee, poured petrol on the door of Lakshmi Prabhakar Bontala (34) and set it ablaze after the two got into a heated exchange of words over a petty issue in the early hours of Tuesday, he said.
The accused also allegedly tried to attack Bontala with a stone, said the official, citing the FIR.
Udmale has been booked under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for voluntarily causing hurt, insulting the modesty of a woman and criminal intimidation, an official added.

Highlighting the gravity of such incidents, Sharma recounted an incident where a student faced rustication and a hefty fine of Rs 1.20 lakh for stabbing another student during Holi celebrations.
The college&rsquo;s stern stance on ragging stems from a tragic 2009 incident when Aman Satya Kachroo, a 19-year-old MBBS student, lost his life after being brutally beaten by four seniors in the boys' hostel. This incident occurred on the college campus near Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh's Kangra district.
Dr Munish Saroch, the member secretary of the college's Anti-Ragging Committee, emphasized that the expulsion of 22 students reflects the administration's firm resolve to eliminate ragging. He also underscored the importance of implementing stronger preventive measures to safeguard students and maintain discipline within the institution.

Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Shri Anand Bardhan held a meeting with senior officials in Haridwar to review preparations for the upcoming 2027 Kumbh Mela and Char Dham Yatra.
The Chief Secretary discussed the preparations for Kumbh-2027 with Fair Officer Karmendra Singh at the Mayapur camp office. He directed that the government will finalize plans after consultations with saints and religious leaders to ensure that the event benefits Haridwar.
The Chief Secretary informed that the state government is actively working to streamline Char Dham Yatra arrangements. The registration process has already started, and district-level officials are conducting inspections. Given the increasing number of pilgrims, all states and prominent individuals have been requested to avoid traveling during the initial phase of the yatra.
The Chief Secretary stated that the plans for Kumbh-2027 are being developed in the best interest of Haridwar. He also noted that he had previously served as the District Magistrate of Haridwar and was the Fair Officer during the 2010 Kumbh Mela.
Speaking to the media, he mentioned that officials are on the ground ensuring proper arrangements for Char Dham Yatra. Any decision regarding the full Kumbh Mela will be taken after consultations with saints and religious leaders.
Following the review, the Chief Secretary visited Shri Maya Devi Temple, Daksha Prajapati Temple in Kankhal, and participated in the Ganga Aarti. The District Magistrate, SSP, and other officials were also present during the visit.

Uttar Pradesh is set to enhance its flagship ease-of-doing-business platform, Nivesh Mitra, by introducing a third-generation version packed with advanced features such as AI-powered multilingual chatbots, real-time system analytics, and an integrated grievance redressal mechanism.&nbsp;
These upgrades aim to provide instant investor support, improve service delivery, and create a seamless investment environment in the state.
Nivesh Mitra, a digital single-window portal, facilitates online clearances and no-objection certificates for investors, eliminating the need for physical visits. Officials from Invest UP shared that the upcoming version of the platform is being designed to address key challenges, including improved interdepartmental connectivity, greater automation, and streamlined investor services.
"Currently, the third-generation version is being developed. The challenges being addressed this time include interdepartmental connectivity, enhanced automation and streamlined investor services for a more efficient and user-friendly experience," said an official from Invest UP.
Officials highlighted that one of the primary objectives is to establish a cohesive digital ecosystem that integrates with central and state-level portals such as Nivesh Sarathi, OIMS, IILB, and Darpan, enabling a unified experience for investors. "One of the key goals was to develop an integrated digital ecosystem to achieve improved interoperability with central and state portals like Nivesh Sarathi, OIMS, IILB and Darpan, ensuring a synchronised investor experience," the official added.
The upgraded platform will also feature data-driven dashboards to support decision-making. "A key feature is the inclusion of dashboard-driven decision making. This will provide smart dashboards for KPI-based district rankings, industrial park ratings and real-time system performance analytics to help probable investors make informed decisions," said officials. They also noted that a GIS-enabled land bank will likely be introduced, facilitating real-time coordination with nodal agencies.
To further boost accessibility, AI-driven multilingual chatbots will be introduced to assist investors with support and grievance redressal. Officials confirmed that application tracking with vernacular notifications through WhatsApp, Email, and SMS will be part of the new system.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday laid the foundation for the rejuvenation of the historic Shri Ram Janaki Temple in Kashmiriganj, a site with a 627-year-old legacy. The renovated temple will cover an area of 8,000 square feet.
Addressing a gathering of seers at the temple complex, Yogi Adityanath highlighted the temple's historical significance. "In 1398, Jagadguru Ramanandacharya's first disciple, Anantacharya, established this temple. Targeting of this place by foreign invaders highlighted its significance. History reveals that under the supervision of Jagadguru Anantacharya's disciple Narharidas, Goswami Tulsidas spent five years of his childhood studying the Vedas and Vedanta at this location. The recitation of Tulsidas's Ramcharitmanas and Sundarkand is a part of every auspicious ceremony in the homes of Sanatan Dharma followers," Yogi said.
He further emphasized the temple's spiritual importance, noting that numerous scholars, ascetics, and saints have regarded it as a sacred site for spiritual practice. "The tradition of saints and seers like Baba Kinaram, Swami Vivekananda, Ma Anandamayi, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Jagadguru Bhagavatacharya, Jagadguru Shivramacharya, Mahant Ramchandra Das Paramhans Ji Maharaj, the current President of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, former MP Ramvilas Vedanti, and others was identified with this temple as they all began their spiritual lives here," he said.
The Chief Minister also acknowledged Swami Ramkamalacharya Vedanti as the 23rd generation in this spiritual tradition, stating that the temple's rejuvenation aims to preserve its rich heritage and inspire future generations.
Speaking about the significance of preserving cultural heritage, Yogi Adityanath said, "Our generation is fortunate to witness a rich heritage with their own eyes. The long legacy of revered saints, who lived their entire lives with determination, was realized on Jan 22, 2024, in Ayodhya Dham, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is also MP from Kashi, presided over the consecration of Ram Lalla at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi after 500 years."
Recalling the efforts that led to the construction of the Ram Temple, he credited the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, saints, and late Ashok Singhal for playing a crucial role in the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi movement.

In a major push to improve government schools to fulfil the Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann's promise of world-class education, the Punjab Government has successfully upgraded over 1,2000 government schools under the &ldquo;Sikhya Kranti&rdquo; program. The initiative has modernized classrooms, infrastructure, and digital learning facilities to match the best educational standards.
Revealing the information about the ambitious program, Punjab School Education Minister S. Harjot Singh Bains said that the government schools have been equipped with all the essential amenities including Wi-Fi Internet connections, furniture, clean drinking water, separate toilets for girls and boys.
He also highlighted that under this program, 6,812 schools now have new or repaired boundary walls, covering nearly 1,000 kilometres for enhanced safety for students. Additionally, 5,399 new classrooms have been built to accommodate students better, while sanitation facilities have seen a major upgrade with 2,976 new toilets in as many as 2,934 schools and repaired 7,166 toilets across 4,889 schools.
The program has also focused on student&rsquo;s comfort and well-being, 1,16,901 dual desks, tables, and chairs have been provided to schools ensuring a dedicated learning space for each student, he said, while adding that 359 school playgrounds have been developed to promote sports and physical activity among students. Furthermore, to modernise education, 2,261 smart classrooms with interactive panels have been installed in 1,886 schools, incorporating technology into education for a more engaging learning experience.
To mark the completion of these improvements, the Education Minister said that the Punjab School Education Department will hold inauguration ceremonies to be commenced from April 7 onwards, and continue until May 31st across all schools to showcase infrastructure development works, including additional classrooms, boundary walls, toilet blocks, drinking water facilities, libraries, playgrounds, smart classrooms, and other critical improvements, have been completed.
Meanwhile, this initiative underscores the state government's commitment to providing quality education for all children. The improved learning environment will empower students to excel academically, and this investment in education is expected to have a lasting impact on the future of Punjab.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to complete all necessary preparations for the programmes scheduled during Prime Minister Narendra Modi&rsquo;s upcoming visit in the second week of April.
He particularly emphasized the timely completion of projects set to be inaugurated.
On Thursday, CM Yogi held a meeting with officials after inspecting the public meeting venue in Mehendiganj, Varanasi.
During the review, Divisional Commissioner Kaushal Raj Sharma provided the Chief Minister with a point-wise presentation detailing the preparations. He also outlined the projects that will be inaugurated and those for which the foundation stone will be laid by the Prime Minister.
Commissioner of Police Mohit Agarwal briefed the CM on security preparations, highlighting ongoing campaigns against cow smuggling, illegal auto operations, unauthorized loudspeakers, and the installation of CCTV cameras.
While assessing law and order, CM Yogi instructed authorities to intensify foot patrolling to curb incidents of chain-snatching, robbery, and crimes against women. He also stressed the need for special security arrangements at the Prime Minister&rsquo;s meeting venue.
During the review of development projects, the Chief Minister directed officials to ensure significant progress in the developmental works at Harishchandra Ghat and Manikarnika Ghat, with a mandate to complete them before the monsoon season.
Taking note of land subsidence at certain locations on Namo Ghat, he ordered a quality check followed by immediate repairs.
Regarding the beautification of the Varuna River Front, the CM instructed officials to draft a concrete action plan and begin work at the earliest. He also called for the selection of a suitable site for the expansion of the National Forensic University campus.
Emphasizing the importance of cleanliness, CM Yogi directed that regular cleanliness drives be conducted in both urban and rural areas with active public participation. He also stressed the enforcement of a complete ban on single-use plastics.
To improve infrastructure, he ordered authorities to expedite the road widening project in Dal Mandi. Additionally, he urged the creation of a comprehensive cluster-wise action plan for the structured development of Varanasi.
The CM instructed the Varanasi Municipal Corporation to ensure a steady supply of clean drinking water, particularly during the summer months, to meet public needs efficiently.

In the initial phase, the Urban Development Department and Municipal Corporation have been directed to develop a concrete and effective plan for the rehabilitation of slum dwellers in Dehradun. Additionally, Bardhan has asked the Irrigation Department to provide an update on the revival status of the Rispana and Bindal rivers and to expedite work on their restoration plan.
On Thursday, the Chief Secretary reviewed the conditions of slums and the progress of the Rispana and Bindal river revival projects with officials from the Urban Development and Irrigation Departments at the Secretariat.
During the review, Bardhan instructed the Urban Development Department to compile updated information on slums, including the status of identification and a list of residents. Based on this data, he emphasized the need to formulate an effective action plan for slum rehabilitation and resettlement. He urged officials to work with the vision of creating a slum-free Uttarakhand.
He further stressed that improving the living standards of slum dwellers, their rehabilitation, and the revival of affected areas should be treated as a priority. He highlighted that slums should be viewed as a social challenge that must be addressed with sensitivity and compassion.
The meeting was attended by the Principal Secretary of Forest, along with Secretaries from the Urban Development, Irrigation, and Health Departments, as well as other senior officials.
