A day after Punjab Youth Congress workers set a tractor on fire near India Gate in the heart of Delhi during protests against the farm bills, PM Modi on Tuesday said, those opposing farm laws are insulting farmers. He also added, some people are opposing the bills as another source of earning black money has been closed for them.

PM said that the Opposition had been saying for years that they will implement MSP but they never did, adding that the govt did it as per the recommendation of the Swaminathan Commission.

The passage of the farm bills have triggered widespread agitations in several states. As many as six people have been arrested in connection with the tractor-burning incident and two cars have been seized by the Delhi Police.

While BJP has condemned the incident, Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh defended it saying, if someone has a tractor, they can do anything with it, and it shouldn't bother anyone.
