Punjab: Explosives found, police say major I-Day terror plot busted

The Punjab Police on Monday claimed to have busted a terror plot with the recovery of ammunition, including Explosive Devices and hand grenades, from a village near the international border.

Police said that explosives were fitted in tiffin boxes and terrorists were planning to strike around the Independence Day.

The Police added that explosives and grenades were delivered through drones from across the border.

Punjab Police chief Dinkar Gupta said the cops in the state are working with central agencies on the case. He added that these are highly sophisticated and remote controlled devices, activated through batteries.

The IEDs were found in Daleke village on Sunday. The police, however, did not name any terror group or their potential targets.
